Game key regions: Global, EU or country — what works where
A cheap key can be region-locked. If you buy one for a region other than your account's, you may not be able to activate it.
For an EU account: look for keys marked EU / Europe or Global / Worldwide. Avoid keys for other regions (e.g. “RU/CIS”, “LATAM”, “India”, “Turkey”, “US”) unless the page says they work in Europe.
What the labels mean
- Global: usually activates in any country (exceptions are noted on the product page).
- EU / Europe: usually activates on European accounts — still check the product page.
- Specific country (e.g. “Romania”, “UK”): usually only accounts from that country — especially important for PlayStation and Xbox gift cards.
Currency and Steam
Steam has no local price in some EU countries such as Romania and charges them in EUR (per Steam's developer documentation). EUR Steam cards therefore suit those accounts.
PlayStation and Xbox gift cards
PlayStation and Xbox cards are issued per country; pick the card for your account's country. For example, G2A lists PSN “Romania” cards of RON 100 and 200 — as it's a marketplace, check the seller.
